About me
I’ve been working as a language instructor for over a decade, from high school to tertiary institutes in different countries, including Taiwan, Turkey, and Germany. Because of my diverse working experiences, I enjoy meeting and exchanging ideas with people from different backgrounds.
I hold a Ph.D. in corpus linguistics with my research interests in vocabulary, phraseology, pattern grammar, (foreign) language teaching, academic English, and natural language processing. My doctoral research was to investigate the features of spoken academic English based on a research-compiled MOOC corpus, for which I advocate the importance of free digital knowledge and education. Free knowledge and open access matter to me, because I do believe it is important for people to distinguish opinions and facts ─ open access helps people to increase their digital literacy skills. I am excited to have the chance to join the Education team at WMF to advocate open access in higher education.
I speak Taiwanese, Mandarin Chinese, English, a bit Turkish and German.
